I will abide by Six Senses principles, core values, best practices, guidelines and objectives, while respecting other cultures and nationalities and projecting a positive and proactive position to help build and maintain a strong, loyal team. My duties and responsibilities will include: + Lead bi-weekly snorkels with educational briefings for guests. + Assist head marine biologist in a variety of research projects including snorkeling and diving surveys. + Deliver a weekly presentation on a varying number of topics related to marine biology. + Assist the watersports team for snorkel excursions to provide a more educational and tailored guest experience. + Lead interactive and engaging weekly marine biology activities for children at Grow with Six Senses. + Assist turtle biologist in data collection and processing. + Assist in general data processing. + Provide education for guests on evening dolphin cruises. + Take personal initiative to read and learn about ongoing marine biology projects with the opportunity to implement a new project. + Act as a key team member of the Sustainability department, working with all departments to educate, conserve, and research marine ecosystems and our operation’s impacts. + Come with curiosity to work, using personal initiative to delve deeper into topics of marine biology. + Knowledge of all safety, security and emergency procedures related to my position in line with brand and statutory requirements. + Ensure the privacy of guests, partners and residential owners, I will apply an extra level of protection to any sensitive personal data and use confidential information only to perform my job. + Ensure all equipment of the department is kept clean and in good working condition. + Upsell all property facilities and activities. + Attend meetings and training as required. + Knowledge and strict adherence to LQA standards. + Perform any additional tasks given to me by supervisor/management. **_Requirements for Consideration_** I possess a minimum O-level degree, or high school equivalent degree, and an interest in Marine Biology or Environmental Sciences. I am a confident swimmer and experienced snorkeler. I have a minimum of PADI Open Water (or equivalent) diving qualification. I have basic MS Office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. I have an excellent command of written and spoken English and some knowledge of the local language and customs. **_Skills and Experience_** To execute the position of Marine Biology Intern, I have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar or greater role in luxury hotels with proven results. **_Remarks_** Length of internship subject to well-suited applicant’s availability. Ideally, internships will last 3 months minimum. Specific days and timing are based on the business needs, seasonality and local labor laws. The role will also require swimming for 30 – 60 minutes, pulling or assisting guests who are weak swimmers and some heavy lifting of materials up to 30lbs.
